Chronology

2006/January: Kairos Charity Community Development Organization founded as a community   
                        based organization (CBO) in Gulu District, Uganda


2006/June:      Registered as a non-profit CBO association by the Local Government, Gulu
                        District


2007:               Received funds from Sisters of the Congregation St Joseph the Worker USA for
                        building the health unit in Koro Sub County.

 
2008/Sept/19: Opened the health unit to the community
2008/November: Registered the Kairos Health Center with the Uganda Ministry of Health


2009:     Recognition as a non profit National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) by
                        the NGO Board, Uganda Ministry of Internal Affairs.
2008- to date:             Received international students for internship placements
2009:               Agreement with TAMATAM, USA, One World Foundation USA
Dec 2009:        Received Certificate of Recognition by USAID for contributing to health and
                        fight against HIV/AIDS in Northern Uganda.

Kairos Vision
Kairos vision is to provide a holistic & equitable health care to the most disadvantaged population affected by war irrespective of their religious, socio-economic background to promote socio-economic development among the returnee population.

Kairos Mission
The mission centers at providing PHC health care to returnee population and disease prevention through the participation in mass campaigns as well as vector control for common diseases. Provide school health education to prevent teenage pregnancy & school dropouts. Provide capacity building to health workers to provide basic mental health care package to the communities in Northern Uganda. Provide comprehensive HIV care including TB/HIV co infection management. Conducting basic and applied researches with special emphasis on evidenced based health care. Providing outreach services for sustainable development with special emphasis health supervision, clinical mentoring, & PHC provision. Identification and provision of comprehensive care and support to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) especially AIDS orphans.
